Rowan Drilling
Background:
Rowan Drilling rewards their staff for achieving an enviable safety record. The oil and gas industry has a very good safety record but due to the nature of the industry improved safety must be a priority at all times.
Issues/Challenge:
Rowan Drilling have utilised Argos Gift Vouchers for a number of years for their safety reward scheme. One issue to be addressed was to improve security and tracking of awards from supplier, to Rowan to the employee.
The Solution:
ABS proposed the introduction of the Argos A.Card scheme. Each employee was issued with a unique A.Card. When an employee or their team reaches a quarterly or annual target of production or continuous safe practice an award file is created by Rowan Drilling. Rowan email the issuance file to ABS for issuance to cards.
Results:
Rowan Drilling were able to replace their existing voucher scheme with the A.Card scheme without inconvenience to employees. The A.Card scheme was implemented with minimum internal changes or administration.
The A.Card is viewed as more high tech and allows large values to be issued to one member electronically rather than needing to distribute many vouchers.
On the occasions when cards have gone missing or stolen the cards have been quickly and successfully stopped and the points value transferred to a new card
